The Final Hurrah - Derek's Bachelor Weekend

What a weekend!  Unfortunately due to the confidentiality agreement we all signed, that's all I can say.

Just kidding Tiffany!

In case the following isn't obvious, we were all in Breckenridge for Derek's final hurrah.  It was half ski trip, half bachelor party, and all I can say is that I'm so glad I'm back at sea level and that my liver can finally catch a break.

When we arrived the weather was absolutely perfect- low 40's, sun shining, blue bird even got hot while we were skiing.  That would not last.  The storm of the year came through, dumping a couple of dozen feet of snow on us and making skiing very interesting.  I had never experienced a "whiteout" before, but there were times where I literally couldn't see 10 feet in front of my face.  Quite scary when you can't see what's on the ground in front of you.  Anyway, we made it.  It was the most challenging and fun time I've had skiing to date.

The town of Breckenridge was really cool, and of course, there were a ton of people from Louisiana, being Mardi Gras week and all.  (Also, Mardi Gras and a bachelor trip back to back is highly not recommended.  I don't feel human.)

That's really all I can say.  Enjoy the photos and the house music*, much more GoPro footage to come.

*For the record, still not a fan of "house music", but this is a fitting theme for the trip, as it didn't stop for four days straight.  Also, I'm giving up pizza for a year.  Thanks Farid.

That tiny dot in the upper right is a human.

Highest lift in North America.  It was hard to breathe.

Sadly, all good things must come to an end.  Thank God.  Detox time.

[All pictures were taken with my original Fuji X100, small enough to fit in my jacket pocket and not even notice.  I'm still blown away by the images this thing produces, and won't upgrade until this thing dies, which may be never.  I love being able to only travel with this thing.]
